Swiss Forest Carved Linden Wood Bear Armchair, Circa 1900
A magnificent Swiss Black Forest carved Linden wood bear armchair, dated 1900. Possibly carved by Peter Trauffer as a similar bear is in the Peter F Trauffer Carving Catalogue of 1900.
This is one of the finest and largest examples of a Nineteenth Century Swiss carved bear we have ever come across. He is very heavy and solid with ample room to sit in.
