This impeccable 1910 Albright Family Louis Vuitton Trunk is an amazing symbol of early twentieth century affluence. John J. Albright was an American industrialist whose family lived in the town of Buffalo, New York. He was a patron of the arts, but was better known for throwing his Gatsby-esque parties at his West Ferry estate. He had five children, and his second son was Langdon Albright, whose address is hand written on the wonderfully preserved luggage tag. 120 Oakland Place was just around the corner from his father’s estate, and Langdon’s sister even had an estate of her own across the street at 115 Oakland Place.

The luggage tag reads, “Mrs. Langdon Albright, 120 Oakland Place, Buffalo, N.Y.” Mrs. Langdon Albright was Charlotte Spaulding Albright, her initials on both sides of this trunk.
