A Finely Carved Walnut Swiss “Black Forest” Wild Boar, circa 1870. More than likely carved by Peter Buri who was know for his exceptional boar carvings in Brienz, Switzerland. A similar boar was carved for the Binder & Co Exhibition in 1900. See page 57 of “Swiss Carvings – The Art of The Black Forest”.
