Constructed in Detroit, Michigan circa 1907 by the Caille Brothers Company, this Venus upright slot machine stands pristine in its original oak casing, displaying a stunningly preserved colored wheel. The central image of Cupid taking aim at a sleeping woman remains intact. The music box viewed through floral motifs in brass plays the tunes of Yankee Doodle Dandy and Grand Ole Flag.
This slot machine is a true rarity, one of only four in the world, and the only with its original music box. This specific machine has also been used for photography in the sixth edition of Slot Machines: America’s Favorite Gaming Device, by Marshall Fey.
