Marvel at the early days of commercial air travel with this gorgeous hand-polished Lockheed Constellation propeller. Manufactured by the Lockheed Corporation from 1943 to 1958 in Burbank, California, the Constellation served as a civil airliner and military transport aircraft. It was also the presidential aircraft of Dwight D. Eisenhower. The Constellation featured a triple-tail design and dolphin-shaped fuselage, and were powered by one of the most powerful radial aircraft engines ever produced in America, the Wright R-3350 Duplex-Cyclone. During World War II they were used mostly as high-speed, long-distance troop transporters. After the War, it was used as a civil airliner. It was the first widely used airplane that had pressurized air, which allowed for cheap and comfortable air travel for the first time. Many of the largest and iconic airlines of the time used the Constellation, such as TWA and PanAm. We have spent countless hours hand-polishing this piece of history to an immaculate finish. Perfect for any home or office, show-off this stunning piece of aviation history.
